8th Annual Rural & Northern art show

Congratulations to all the artists on the great opening of the 8th annual Rural and Northern Art Show at The Bay Downtown, hosted by MAN. The People's Choice Award went to Linda Hanneson from Portage la Prairie for her watercolor, "Ribbons of Gold".

With the generous support of The Winnipeg Foundation, the Manitoba Arts Network is pleased to once again partner with The Bay Downtown for the 8th Annual Rural and Northern Art Show.  The exhibition serves to represent the skills and diversity of work created by over 100 visual artists living and working in rural and northern Manitoba.  Comprising works selected from six regional juried art exhibitions held throughout the province, the exhibition is showcased in the 6th floor gallery of The Bay Downtown. The exhibition is on display July 3-25.

The Voices for the Missing Art Exhibit is a unique display created to honour the province's ten long-term missing children: Jennifer Catcheway, Abby and Dominic Maryk, Amber McFarland, Marcus McKay, Claudette Osborne, Dwayne Ross, Waylon Smith, Sunshine Wood and Kevin Zdarski.

The Voices for the Missing Art Exhibit will be on display at the following locations:

June 1-30, 2010: Graffiti Art Programming Gallery, 109 Higgins Avenue, Winnipeg
July 12-23: Norway House (location TBC)
August 1-31: Heritage North Museum, 162 Princeton Drive, Thompson
October 14-17: Watson Art Centre, 104- 1st Avenue N.W., Dauphin
